Premier Logistics, a leading Leicester-based family-run logistics firm, has announced the appointment of Alastar Statham as Assistant Transport Manager.
Promoting from within, Alastar transitions from three years as transport planner into his new role.
Already equipped with a Transport Manager CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence) from a previous employer, Alastar started with Premier as a transport planner to gain the knowledge around how the company operates.
Since joining Premier in 2021, Managing Director Lee Christopher has been impressed with Alastar’s progress and made the decision to promote him to Assistant Transport Manager earlier this year. Alastar has excelled in customer service and driver management and has implemented various new process with success.
The promotion aligns with Premier Logistics’ goal to become known as the best employers in the East Midlands, showcasing that there are life-long opportunities to carve an impressive career in the logistics industry. Managing Director Lee Christopher hopes to encourage people to consider a career in logistics and transportation to secure future workers from all walks of life, narrowing the much talked about skills shortage in the industry.
