St Nicholas CE Primary Academy is seeking a compassionate and skilled Speech and Language Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated team and support pupils with communication and language needs. Key Responsibilities:
1. 1:1 Support: Deliver personalised speech and language interventions to individual pupils, following guidance from the Speech and Language Therapist.
2. Group Work: Lead small group sessions to develop language skills and promote positive peer interaction.
3. Progress Tracking: Monitor and record pupil progress, ensuring interventions are effective and targets are met. Share feedback with the Speech and Language Therapist and teaching staff.
4. Resource Development: Prepare engaging and differentiated resources to support speech and language activities, tailored to pupils’ individual needs.
5. Collaborative Practice: Work closely with class teachers, the SENCO, and support staff to embed speech and language strategies across the curriculum.
6. Parent Engagement: Communicate with parents and carers to share progress and offer strategies to support language development at home.
7. Experience delivering 1:1 speech and language interventions in a school setting.
8. Ability to implement advice from Speech and Language Therapists effectively.
9. Strong organisational skills and attention to detail in tracking pupil progress.
10. A passion for supporting children’s communication and language development.
11. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
