Overview
SEN Learning Support Assistant – Dorchester Full-Time | Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm Pay: £89 – £95 per day. We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Learning Support Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Dorchester. This is a rewarding full-time role, supporting children across KS1 and KS2 with a range of special educational, social, and emotional needs.
Responsibilities
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a key part in helping pupils access learning and achieve their potential. Your responsibilities will include:
* Providing 1:1 support or leading small group sessions for SEND pupils and lower-level learners
* Delivering booster sessions in literacy and numeracy, following teacher-prepared materials
* Supporting the class teacher in lessons to ensure all pupils can engage and progress
* Assisting with the wider life of the school, including playtime duties, outdoor learning, and creative activities such as messy play
* Helping create stimulating classroom displays and learning environments
* Encouraging children’s social, emotional, and educational development in line with their individual needs
About You
We are looking for someone who:
* Has experience working with children, ideally in an educational or SEN setting
* Is patient, supportive, and nurturing, with a genuine passion for helping children thrive
* Can adapt to the needs of different learners and work flexibly across the school
* Enjoys working as part of a team and can follow teacher guidance while using their own initiative
