Job Details Hunger and poverty are having a detrimental effect on children’s ability to concentrate and engage in their school learning. Hunger often leads to lethargy and sometimes even disruptive behaviour, which ultimately leads to children not engaging in the classroom. A Childcare Practitioner working in a Breakfast Café will provide a safe, secure environment before school where all children attending are provided with a healthy breakfast (ranging from cereal, toast, fruit and yoghurts). Breakfast Cafés are a drop in services and are not a registered childcare provision. Operational hours 7.45am-9am included with the children attending from 8am. The Person Has understanding and experience working in a catering environment role. Understands dietary and nutritional needs. Organisational skills. Willing to work as part of a team. Fun, engaging and adaptable. Before confirming to your appointment, you will be required to obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland and become a member of the relevant PVG scheme. As this role requires SSSC registration, you will have three months to apply for registration. If appointed, you must start your application as soon as possible so you're registered within the required six months. If you need to achieve a qualification to maintain your SSSC membership, information will be provided if you are appointed.
