Building Fire Safety Consultant
UK-Based | Residential Focus | Technical Reporting Led
We are seeking an experienced Building Fire Safety Consultant to join our growing team. This role is heavily focused on producing high-quality, defensible technical reports based on survey data collected by our survey teams, alongside undertaking complex residential fire risk work.
This is an ideal opportunity for a technically strong professional with excellent judgement and report writing ability who wants to work at a high standard within a specialist environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Writing detailed technical reports from survey data (documented videos and photographs) collected by our survey team, covering:
* External wall investigations.
* Internal compartmentation surveys.
* Producing clear, structured and defensible compartmentation survey reports.
* Reviewing proposed fire strategies and identifying inconsistencies or areas requiring amendment.
* Conducting complex residential Fire Risk Assessments (FRAs).
* Supporting PAS 9980 / FRAEW-style assessments where required.
* Undertaking site surveys directly, including:
* External wall investigations.
* Internal compartmentation surveys.
* Full training will be provided in our specific survey methodology; however, applicants must already have a solid fire risk assessment background and strong technical writing capability.
* Level 4 Fire Risk Assessment qualification (or currently working towards).
* Minimum 3 years’ experience undertaking residential FRAs.
* Demonstrable experience writing detailed, structured technical reports.
* Good understanding of compartmentation principles and Approved Document B.
* Ability to interpret construction types and assess remediation proportionately.
* Strong technical judgement and the ability to provide clear, defensible advice.
Software Requirements
* Experience with Microsoft 365.
Soft Skills
* Client-facing capability.
* Ability to explain technical matters to non-technical stakeholders.
* Experience with PAS 9980 and external wall systems.

* Strong technical judgement.
* The ability to interpret evidence accurately.
* Proportionate and pragmatic decision-making.
