We are looking to recruit a Maintenance Electrician within Asda retail stores for a large and dynamic Facilities Management company providing hard and soft services across the Asda business. Established in 1985, the company offers excellent opportunities for development and career growth.
The role will initially cover ASDA Stores in Barnsley and surrounding areas. When on call (1 week in every 4), you will cover a larger area and be on call 24/7 during that week.

THE JOB
Normal working hours are Monday to Friday, with flexibility required for a rostered out-of-hours on-call service, including weekends (1 week in every 4). You will be provided with a fully expensed company vehicle. The role involves maintaining and repairing electrical and mechanical plant and equipment, including bakery, catering, compactors, lighting, and other electrical systems. The role suits candidates from retail, manufacturing, catering, or factory maintenance backgrounds.
The responsibilities include (not an exhaustive list):
* Completing Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedules within agreed timescales and ensuring accurate paperwork
* Responding promptly to service calls from the Helpdesk and performing repairs as needed
* Prioritizing maintenance and repairs to meet response times
* Ordering spares according to procedures
* Carrying out minor alterations and installations within technical competence and current standards
* Liaising with project teams on store alterations and modernization works
* Advising the General Manager on repair and maintenance issues affecting store operations
THE PERSON
Essential qualifications and requirements:
* Full driving license
* Electrical qualification to City & Guilds 236 Parts 1 & 2, or City & Guilds 2330 Levels 2 & 3, or NVQ Level 3 or equivalent
* Mechanical knowledge
* Good interpersonal skills
* Experience in Building Maintenance and PPM
Desirable: Time-served Electrical Apprenticeship.
