Responsibilities
During the placement you will learn the Calibration department and work on maintenance initiatives. Primary focus will be on modernising the maintenance department ranging from workshop to process improvements.
* Safety related topics such as Risk Assessments, PUWER, LOLER, and safety audits.
* Engage with the Quality team on Process Confirmations, asset care plans, and root cause analysis tools.
* Assist with team engagement initiatives, employee involvement scheme, and environment and sustainability projects.
* Represent the Calibration business at drumbeat reviews and act as a focal point for customers.
Additional learning: Airbus Operating System and Lean principles.
Qualifications
Undergraduates only for the entire placement duration. Candidates must be studying towards a degree in Mechanical Engineering and submit a CV and a cover letter.
* Studying towards a degree in Mechanical Engineering.
* Beneficial to have Computer Science awareness (websites, Google suite).
* Good communication and interpersonal skills.
* Appetite for improvement and innovative ideas.
* Ability to work as part of a team and autonomously.
* Organisational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
* Willingness to learn Airbus ways of working.
* Interest in maintenance and reliability of assets preferable.
Security Clearance
BPSS (Baseline Personnel Security Standard) check required. May also need UK SC-level Security Clearance or Export Control depending on the role.
