Randstad is currently recruiting for an Assistant Team Manager (ATM) to join the Mental Health Social Work Team at Sutton Council.
About the Role:Reporting to the Team Manager, you will play a key role in supporting day-to-day team operations, including staff supervision, workload allocation, and providing duty manager cover. You'll also offer guidance to team members while escalating complex cases as needed.
This is a vital leadership role focused on ensuring commissioned services are cost-effective and aligned with the needs of service users. You'll also support service development through co-production with individuals and families.
Key Responsibilities:
* Supervise and support team members in delivering effective mental health services
* Oversee duty management functions and act as Safeguarding Manager for statutory safeguarding enquiries
* Ensure effective allocation of workloads and contribute to case reviews
* Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to support care planning and service delivery
* Participate in service improvements aligned with a strengths-based approach
You will be joining an established team that already includes two ATMs. This post will be the third, strengthening the team's capacity to deliver high-quality services under the Care Act and Mental Health Act.
Requirements:
* Previous experience in a similar role within Adult Mental Health services
* SWE registration and Enhanced DBS
* Strong knowledge of the Care Act, Mental Health Act, and safeguarding procedures
