The Role
We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Project Engineer to oversee a key project in Wiltshire, with future work expected across the Midlands and South.
You will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful technical and commercial delivery of mechanical packages on complex projects, maintaining our high standards of safety, quality, and client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee the mechanical installation and commissioning process from pre-construction through to handover
* Coordinate with design teams, subcontractors, and suppliers
* Review and manage technical drawings, specifications, and submittals
* Monitor project progress, budgets, and programme milestones
* Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations and company standards
* Attend and lead site meetings with clients and stakeholders
* Support procurement activities and manage subcontractor performance
* Assist in managing project documentation and reporting
Requirements
* Proven experience as a Mechanical Project Engineer within an M&E or main contracting environment
* Strong knowledge of mechanical building services (HVAC, pipework, plant rooms, etc.)
* Experience delivering projects within Education, MoJ, healthcare, or similarly regulated sectors is advantageous
* Strong commercial awareness and understanding of project financials
* Excellent communication and coordination skills
* Ability to work independently while contributing to a wider project team
* Relevant qualification in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services (HNC/HND/Degree preferred)
* CSCS card (relevant level)
* Security clearance (or willingness and eligibility to obtain it) is highly desirable
