Responsibilities:
* Design and develop heavy:duty equipment systems, including bespoke load carriers and associated machinery.
* Create detailed technical drawings for complex mechanical systems, focusing on chassis, suspension, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
* Perform structural design for fabrication and welding, with a focus on sheet metal, jigs, fixtures, and custom:built components.
* Conduct stress analysis and structural calculations to ensure the safety and stability of the designs, using tools like Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
* Independently manage projects, from initial concept through to production, including working directly with the production team to resolve issues and ensure timely delivery.
Requirements:
* 5:10 years of experience in designing mechanical systems for heavy equipment, special purpose machinery, or industrial vehicles.
* HNC (minimum) in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, with preference given to candidates with a degree.
* Strong proficiency in 3D CAD software (preferably SolidWorks), with a focus on mechanical and structural design.
* Experience designing for welding and fabrication processes.
* Proven ability to independently manage projects, ensuring designs are completed on time and to specification.
