Wood Process and Energy is recruiting a Principal Process Engineer to support our process engineering team in the Glasgow office on a staff role.
Hybrid Working - working from home and some days a week expected in our Glasgow office
We are looking for engineers with the drive and commitment to make a genuine difference to our performance on projects across the full life cycle, from studies through FEED and EPC to ensure that Wood continues to differentiate itself from its competitors by delivering quality projects to our Client’s requirements.
Applicants with technical skills and experience in these markets are welcome to apply. Relevant experience in a Process Lead Engineer role would be an added advantage.
You will be joining project process teams and will have responsibility for process delivery across all stages of the design process.
Wood Process & Energy in Glasgow currently services a wide range of UK and overseas industries in O&G, Refining, Petrochemical, Chemicals, and Pharmaceutical, but also working in the power sector and emerging technologies, such as Hydrogen and CCS in the energy transition market.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Lead the Process Engineering services in Studies, FEEDs and EPC Projects
2. File process calculations and other documents in the proper manner after design work
3. Undertake process design work of units as required, supervise and check work of assigned engineers on the project as appropriate
4. Execute process engineering activities within the budget and schedule, as well as maintain technical integrity of the designs
5. Develop the basis of design as the Lead Process Engineer, undertake detailed calculations to develop the design, and be responsible for the accuracy of these calculations
6. Ensure that detailed design methods, standards, and data used conform with the Client's requirements and/or those issued by Wood
7. Prepare Process Flow Diagrams, Equipment specifications, Process Descriptions and P&IDs for review and approval
8. Be responsible for the checking or approval of process calculations in accordance with Wood procedures
9. Ensure a high standard of safety is achieved and Environmental and Quality Assurance procedures are followed
10. Perform safety-related calculations and provide input to Hazops, SIL, and other safety reviews as directed
11. Contribute where necessary to review of supplier quotations and reviews of the project 3D CAD model
12. Ensure that requirements of Licensor's Secrecy Agreements are known and complied within the work performed
13. Participate in technical meetings and handle discussions with client engineers
14. Assist as required in the preparation of Operating Manuals

Who we are looking for:
22. Chemical Engineering Degree
23. Chartered Chemical Engineer status
24. Experience working on and leading Studies, FEED, and EPC projects associated with O&G, refining, petrochemical, and chemicals
25. Proven core Process Engineering skills, including design experience
26. A self-motivated, proactive individual with high achievement drive and initiative, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and good organisational awareness
27. Ability to impact and influence fellow workers
28. Demonstration of customer focus and ability to respond to customer needs whilst achieving project and corporate objectives
