Barking and Dagenham College invites applications for an IQA Internal Verifier to join our Building Services‑Electrical team. The role involves monitoring, reviewing and evaluating the quality of assessment processes to ensure that awarding body standards are met. As an IQA expert you will assess assessor performance, identify development needs and facilitate assessor development to improve assessment quality. The position is on a variable hours contract, up to 18 hours per week (0.5 FTE), with a competitive pay range of £18.35 to £24.74 per hour.
Key Responsibilities
* Devise and record individual assessment action plans with staff and determine whether assessment processes and systems meet quality requirements.
* Track student progress and verify that assessments are planned, prepared and carried out as per the quality assurance calendar.
* Provide written and oral feedback to assessors and update assessment records in accordance with internal and external quality standards set by the Awarding Body and the college.
* Advise and support assessors to maintain and improve assessment practice and ensure assessment decisions are made using specified criteria.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
* Experience as an IQA for Electrical.
* Academic qualifications relevant to the field of study at Level 3 (E).
* Assessor Award Qualification D32/33, A1, TAQA or equivalent (E).
* Academic and/or professional experience relevant to the field of study (E).
* Excellent interpersonal and team development skills with the ability to contribute to team goals; able to work independently and as a team member (E).
* Good IT and administrative skills, with the ability to maintain accurate tracking records for tools and equipment (E).
