Introduction

This position is based at our Rivenhall Facility in Essex, a state-of-the-art plant that processes approximately 595,000 tonnes of residual waste per year, generating electricity to power around 60,000 homes.
The Production Engineer is responsible for supporting the Production Manager in all production and operational coordination activities required to operate the Rivenhall facility in a safe, efficient and compliant manner.
The Production Engineer will be expected to operate the DCS and become a Safety Controller under Rivenhall IWMF Safety Rules. The role will be expected on occasion to deputise for Shift Team Leaders and carry out the full duties of the Production Mananger in his absence.
Role & Responsibilities
Supports the identification, design, implementation and management of Process and Operational Safety Plans.
Ensure all works are executed in accordance with Indaver's Safe System of Work and the protection of people, plant and the environment are at the core of every activity.
On occasion ensure safety from the system via use of permit to work system / Rivenhall Safety Rules.
Assist in the development and motivating the Production Team to deliver operational excellence across all facility operations.
Production Team personnel planning and shift management.
Coordination of all production and material handling processes within the facility. Coordination of external production support services.
Assist in the Control of Rivenhall IWMF facility operational parameters within design limits and normal operational ranges to deliver stable, efficient operations.
Support and Coordinate with the maintenance team and facilitation of maintenance activities within the facility.
Experience and Qualifications Required
Degree educated, in a technical or process related area of study and ideally supplemented with further studies in business or organisational development; or
HNC/HND with significant experience gained in a continuous process environment.
Proven managerial experience within a continuous process industry.
Minimum 10 years of relevant experience.
Minimum 5 years people management experience.
Knowledge of SAP would be an advantage, but not essential as training will be provided.
Senior Authorised Person experience a distinct advantage.
DCS operation experience adistinct advantage.
