Reporting to the Senior Management Accountant and Group Finance Director, the role of Management Accountant will assist with the development and management of financial performance reporting and metrics. They will assist in leading and developing the Finance Department, support operational activities and assist in the provision of quality financial information to stakeholders. Key Responsibilities: Prepare monthly management accounts, including detailed variance analysis and commentary. Maintain and update the fixed asset register to ensure accuracy and compliance. Prepare and process accruals and prepayments in line with accounting standards. Review and provide support for the full debtor ledger, ensuring timely resolution of discrepancies. Verify that all foreign imports reflect accurate landed costs including shipping, duty and VAT Prepare and submit quarterly VAT returns in accordance with regulatory requirements. Perform various balance sheet reconciliations to maintain financial integrity. Reconcile and manage intercompany balances across entities. Work closely with the Customer Returns team, ensuring all returns are processed promptly, accurately, and appropriately recorded in the financial accounts. Work closely with the Supplier Returns team to guarantee that all supplier returns and credit notes are managed correctly and reflected accurately in the accounts. Maintain an up-to-date schedule of lease agreements, ensuring compliance with contractual terms. Monitor and reconcile stock movements across raw materials and finished goods. Ensure accurate stock valuation and reporting in line with accounting standards. Work closely with production and warehouse teams to maintain integrity of inventory records. Analyse manufacturing costs and margins, identifying variances and recommending corrective actions. Assist with internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with statutory and company requirements. Collaborate with production, procurement, and supply chain teams to provide financial guidance. Support continuous improvement projects aimed at cost reduction and efficiency gains. Support and mentor junior members of the team. Ad-hoc analysis and reports as and when required. What we’re looking for: Qualified ACA, ACCA, CIMA or QBE Proven experience working in a manufacturing environment, with understanding of the manufacturing process and standard costs Practical experience in ERP systems Motivated and a self-starter that takes ownership and leads by example with a strong work ethic Evidence of ability to implement rigorous controls and processes. Proven ability to document and effectively analyse financial performance and key performance measures, Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
