Are you a recently qualified or about to qualify social worker? We offer an assisted and supported year in employment (ASYE) designed to help you apply your skills and make a difference for children and young people in Herefordshire. If you seek a supportive environment, protected caseload, great colleagues, outdoor access, and community spirit, consider applying.
Herefordshire Children’s Services is transforming to improve support to children and families. Our ASYE program is a key part of this, providing a stable foundation and adhering to core ASYE principles (Skills for Care, 17/10/2022).
Supported by the Social Care Academy, you will have an induction, training, and guidance from an Advanced Practitioner. You will also access a bespoke 52-week learning program and Herefordshire’s Learning Offer to support your ongoing professional development.
We guarantee a protected caseload, and as a supernumerary NQSW, you will have opportunities to develop skills across service areas. You will also enhance your critical reflection skills, attend development groups, and receive practice observations to meet Skills for Care standards.
Our focus on career development aims to identify future senior practitioners and managers, with ongoing learning opportunities post-ASYE. Successful completion of the program will advance you to the next grade, with eligibility for a market forces supplement (£5,000/year) and a Skills for Care CPD certificate.
We ask that you are a team player, child and family-focused, and able to travel independently across the region (full driving license required). Reasonable adjustments will be considered.
If interested, review the role’s job description and person specification. To apply, submit your CV and supporting statement explaining how you meet the role’s requirements. Interviews are scheduled for 1st July; please ensure availability.
