Sprint Education Recruitment
Teaching assistant
£85.5 - £100 a day
Posted: 9 December
Offer description

Some pupils need calm routines, steady encouragement, and someone who helps school feel safe enough to manage the day. If you enjoy offering that kind of support, you may be well suited to a long term SEMH Teaching Assistant role starting in January.

We work with primary, secondary, and specialist settings that value consistency. These schools look for teaching assistants who can build trust over time, guide pupils through their daily routines, and notice the small moments when a child begins to settle. If you're planning your next step for the new year and want a role where you can grow your skills, this could be a strong match.

Responsibilities

*

Support pupils with social, emotional, and mental health needs throughout the school day.

*

Help establish predictable routines so pupils feel grounded and ready to learn.

*

Follow individual support plans and offer calm guidance when pupils need help regulating.

*

Work 1 to 1 and with small groups to boost confidence, engagement, and wellbeing.

*

Share observations with teachers and pastoral teams to support joined up decision making.

*

Encourage positive relationships and model consistent behaviour support.

Requirements

*

At least 6 months' experience supporting children or young people with SEMH or additional needs, or a relevant qualification such as a psychology degree or Level 3 TA certificate.

*

Ability to build trust and respond with calm, steady behaviour support.

*

Confidence supporting pupils individually and in small group settings.

*

Willingness to follow school guidance on regulation, behaviour, and safeguarding.

*

Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.

What We Offer

Support from a specialist SEND consultant, access to training and CPD, and opportunities to build experience for future roles in education, psychology, or therapy.

Why Sprint

If you're looking for short term or ad hoc work, this won't be the right fit. If you want a long term role where you can build meaningful relationships with pupils who benefit from consistency, that is exactly what we offer.
