The Recruitment Bunker are recruiting exclusively for a Jig and Fixture Assembly Technician.
The Jig and Fixture Assembly Technician is responsible for constructing, assembling, and maintaining jigs, fixtures and tooling used in manufacturing BIW processes. This role requires a strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work with precision tools and equipment to ensure the accuracy and reliability of production fixtures.

Responsibilities
* Component Fabrication: Fabricate and Assemble Jigs and fixtures for vehicle build programmes according to engineering drawings, specifications, with the ability to identify improvements and concerns.
* Welding: Perform various welding techniques to a high standard, including MIG, TIG, and spot welding, to join metal components together securely and accurately.
* Metal Forming: Utilise metal forming equipment such as presses, rollers, and brakes to shape and form sheet metal into jig and fixture components.
* Assembly: Assemble fabricated components to build Jigs and fixtures, ensuring component alignment, fit, and finish.
* Development: Working alongside engineering to build fixtures to engineering standards with the ability to identify concerns during the fixture build process
* Quality Control: Inspect and commission fabricated components and assembled structures to ensure they meet quality specifications using measurement tooling and equipment.
Essential Skills
* Understanding of mechanical principles and the ability to work with precision tools and equipment
* Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings and technical specifications to assemble jigs and fixtures accurately
* Skill in using precision measuring tools such as callipers, micrometres, and gauges to verify dimensional accuracy
* Knowledge of assembly techniques and methods for constructing jigs and fixtures with precision and efficiency
* Ability to problem solve and resolve issues or discrepancies during assembly to ensure optimal functionality
* Focus on detail to ensure proper alignment, fit, and functionality of assembled jigs and fixtures
* Competence in working with hand and power tools, including drills, saws, grinders, and machining equipment
* Skill in performing routine maintenance tasks and repairs on jigs and fixtures to ensure operational reliability
* Ability to maintain accurate records of assembly activities, adjustments, maintenance tasks, and repairs performed on jigs and fixtures
* Effective communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with engineering, design, and production teams to address requirements and implement improvements
* Adherence to safety procedures while operating equipment and performing assembly tasks to maintain a safe working environment
* Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities, production schedules, and evolving requirements in a dynamic manufacturing environment
* Must have IDLR/ Full right to work in UK- Sponsorship will not be provided
* An understanding of industry and regulatory requirements such Quality System Regulations (IATF16949, ISO9001, 5S, TPM, KPI’s).
