About Our Client
Reporting directly to the Finance Director, you'll take full ownership of the day-to-day finance operations managing a team of two Accounts Assistants. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to step into a varied leadership role in a supportive and dynamic environment.
Job Description
Key responsibilities of a Finance Manager will include:
3. Monthly general ledger transactions, ensuring correct coding to budget accounts
4. Monthly balance sheet reconciliations
5. Produce financial and management reports, including P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, variance analysis.
6. Prepare and submit VAT returns in line with HMRC deadlines
7. Support annual budget preparation and periodic forecasting
8. Monitor and report on cash flow and cash availability
9. Assist in the preparation of annual statutory accounts
10. Manage 2x Purchase Ledger clerks as direct reports
11. Mentor team members to support succession planning
12. Continuously review accounting processes to improve efficiency and reduce costs
The Successful Applicant
A successful Finance Manager will have:
13. Proven experience in a similar finance or accounting role
14. Strong understanding of management accounts, budgeting, cash flow and a background in transactional processes
15. Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
16. A proactive, solution-focused mindset
17. Experience with accounting software ideally Xero
18. CIS submissions and transfers will be beneficial
