Job Title: Technical Assistant – Hard FM
Starting Salary: £31,537 (potential to progress to £34,434 per annum)

About The Team
* The Facilities Management team ensures our operational accommodation is clean, safe, and working efficiently, maintaining it to optimum condition within available budgets so that HCC staff can deliver their services.
* This role reports to the Technical Supervisor – Stevenage.
* The postholder liaises with users of the buildings, including staff from all directorates, public members, contractors and sub‑contractors.
About The Role
* Support the Technical Supervisor with delivery of building/plant planned servicing, testing and checks at multiple sites.
* Deal with breakdowns and reactive maintenance at multiple sites.
* Deliver work in line with all relevant health and safety legislation and achieve targets on time.
* Liaise with contractors and sub‑contractors undertaking work at sites.
* Work closely with FM colleagues to share and document all required data for work undertaken by the team.
About You
Essential
* Ability to drive in order to deliver services at multiple locations.
* Experience in mechanical, electrical or plumbing/heating.
* Strong oral and written communication skills.
* Hold or working towards IOSH Working or Managing Safely and good understanding of H&S legislation and codes of practice.
* Understanding of property management issues.
* Ability to understand O&M manuals, technical drawings, manufacturers’ literature.
Desirable
* Good communication skills.
* IT literate and ability to use CAFM and other M&E based systems.
* Understanding of H&S related paperwork including SSoW, RAMS, PTW, COSHH, Hot Works.
* Knowledge of testing and inspection equipment, hand tools, electrical tools.
