Deputy Retirement Village Manager
£45,000 per annum plus excellent benefits.
Location: Richmond Villages Cheltenham, Hatherley Lane, Gloucestershire, GL51 6PN.
Employment type: Permanent, full time, 40 hours per week with occasional weekend rotation as Duty Manager for the village.

You’ll help us make health happen by:
* Oversee and support heads of departments in their delivery of quarterly objectives.
* Work with the heads of departments to ensure the facilities, environment and grounds meet the specifications and standards expected by our residents and health and safety.
* Ensure the village meets all regulatory and statutory requirements (fire, health and safety, COSHH, RIDDOR, employment and other Acts).
* Prepare and present proposals for improvement to the Village Manager and deliver changes when approved.
* Be the first point of escalation for our customers, supporting heads of departments in taking corrective actions and driving improvement.
* Proactively seek feedback from residents about services and suggestions for village improvements.
* Support heads of departments with the preparation of strategic proposals to develop and improve services considering daily operational and customer feedback.
* Maintain and nurture a good relationship with all residents, families and customers of the business.
* Assist with regular communication to residents on updates and company briefings.
* Work closely with management across different departments, including our clinical lead and care home manager, ensuring delivery of high‑quality care, hospitality and support services.
* Nurture long‑term relationships with residents, their friends and family, customers and external organisations (e.g., CQC).
* Lead by example, interacting and communicating effectively with our customer base and the wider community.
Key Skills / Qualifications Needed For This Role
Ideally, you’ve had previous experience as a Deputy Manager or leading teams within a large hospitality or care setting and are willing or already working towards your Level 5 leadership and management qualifications. You must be comfortable making decisions, see the bigger picture, and be confident challenging current processes and influencing others. You’re a change agent with experience leading teams on a journey of continuous improvement, and you have excellent communication skills with an ability to adapt your style to meet the varying needs of internal and external stakeholders. You’re approachable and open, a confident leader who can empower our team to deliver the highest standards of care – putting our residents at the heart of everything you do.
