Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Advanced Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our Child Disability Team. This is a Band 7 permanent post for 15 hours per week (2 days) based at Cimla Hospital, Neath.
This is a community-based role requiring travel between clinics, clients' homes, and Local Authority buildings.
The successful applicant will work alongside an established Advanced Clinical Nurse Specialist to ensure the service offers cover 5 days a week.
Main duties of the job
The Advanced Clinical Nurse Specialist:
* Participates in assessing, planning, delivering, and evaluating care for patients/clients as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
* Offers specialist support to the team with complex families in the service.
* Works within the ALN framework, carries out and delegates responsibilities as needed, and maintains record keeping in line with professional and health board policies, delegated administration, and clerical duties.
* Provides a family-centered public health service by contributing to assessing emerging ALN needs through a multidisciplinary environment to support children and their families within the ALN process.
* Works in partnership with the child disability team, wider health visiting team, and voluntary and statutory agencies as appropriate to ensure transparency and efficiency of the ALN process, attending meetings as needed.

Person Specification
Qualifications & Knowledge (Essential):
* Registered Nurse & current NMC registration
* Master's Degree or equivalent experience in a specialist clinical field
* Knowledge of service improvement
* Awareness of NHS developments
Qualifications & Knowledge (Desirable):
* Teaching qualification or equivalent
* Management qualification or equivalent
Experience (Essential):
* Experience in the relevant specialty and in a multiprofessional environment
* Experience managing a ward or department
* Mentorship experience with preregistration nursing/midwifery students
* Experience conducting audits
* Experience using reflective learning for development
Experience (Desirable):
* Participation in research
Aptitude & Abilities (Essential):
