As Shift Leader, you will work with the Branch Leadership Team and colleagues to support the Area Manager in ensuring that your branch is Health, Safe and Legal at all times, maximising efficiency, availability, and delivering great service to our customers.
This is a fast-moving, challenging role that offers great exposure to our vibrant customer base, allowing you to have a direct influence on the service we provide.

The responsibilities include:
1. Opening, closing, and managing the complete operational running of the branch, making decisions prioritising health and safety for customers and colleagues, and leading in the absence of the Area Manager.
2. Supporting a Health, Safe and Legal culture by keeping colleagues informed of all H&S and Security updates.
3. Ensuring all colleagues maintain a clean, tidy, and safe environment.
4. Ensuring compliance with company policies, procedures, and mandatory training.
5. Leading by example by role-modelling the Code of Business Conduct and Win Together Behaviours.
6. Living PRIDE in the branch and focusing on delivering excellent availability and service.
7. Supporting colleagues during induction and training.
8. Building and maintaining good relationships both internally and externally.
9. Championing Diversity and Inclusion, ensuring Everyone Is Welcome at Booker.
To succeed in this role, you should have:
* Excellent communication skills, with experience in supervising or managing a team.
* A proven track record of coaching, motivating, guiding a team, and holding people accountable for delivering great service.
* Flexibility and adaptability, with strong problem-solving skills.
* Practical experience in the retail/wholesale trade.
