The group tax function plays a central role in driving enterprise growth and supporting strategic decision-making, while maintaining rigorous compliance standards across all tax matters. In addition to overseeing a wide range of compliance activities - including returns filing (tax, VAT, plastic packaging), R&D claims, transfer pricing documentation, Pillar 2 compliance, HMRC audits and requests, IR35 contractor sign-off - the department delivers proactive tax advisory support for payroll, technology, and customs teams. By managing risks and identifying opportunities, the tax department helps shape business direction and ensures the company remains both competitive and compliant.
What you'll be doing
Management of the Group’s VAT affairs
Management of Corporation tax compliance
Management of Half Year and Year end tax disclosures
Producing Transfer pricing local file and master file documentation and ownership of TP policies
Ensuring compliance for BEPS Pillar 2
Ensuring all tax payments are made on time
Jersey GST compliance
Ireland Tax compliance
Preparing Research and development claims in house
Management of PPT
Employment Tax advice
Ensuring IR35 compliance
Automation and update for tax processes
Oversight of PSA return
Oversight of Employment Related Securities filings
Maintaining a good and honest relationship with HMRC
Updating the business on new tax requirements
Researching technical legislation
Preparing disclosures for HMRC
Training tax team
SAO
Tax risk register
Tax strategy
What we'll look for in you
ACA/ ACCA/CIMA/CTA qualified
Technical tax expert with experience of working with large corporates
Proven line manager, capable of coaching and developing team members to achieve strong performance
Advanced stakeholder management skills, able to tailor approach to audience whether internal, independent tax advisors or HMRC.
Highly effective organisational skills, logical approach and attention to detail
Proactive approach to self development and team development
Proven ability to work to deadlines whilst maintaining a high level of accuracy
Self-motivated, resilient and able to demonstrate initiative
Desirable skills:
IT skills with strong knowledge of Excel including pivot tables and lookups
Alphatax experience
Competent in the use of ERP systems (SAP desirable)
Experience in practice
