Pentland Primary School’s Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) has experienced significant growth. The nursery and reception settings are run by dedicated staff who believe in providing the best start in life through quality experiences.
The ideal candidate will be motivated, enthusiastic, resilient, and experienced with EYFS children. Knowledge of the EYFS profile and safeguarding is essential. The candidate should be a team player with creative ideas and a positive attitude.
The role involves:
1. Providing specialist support in EYFS, adhering to safeguarding policies.
2. Supervising groups and classes as needed.
3. Providing nurturing and educational support through quality interactions and play.
4. Supporting colleagues and building relationships with children, parents, and external agencies.
5. Collaborating with the EYFS team and external professionals to support children's progress.
6. Flexibility in working hours, including some outside normal school hours.
Requirements include:
* An approved Level 3 (or higher) teaching assistant or childcare qualification.
* Experience supporting young children in school or private settings.
* Experience with intimate care and understanding of the EYFS curriculum.
* Knowledge of SEN and additional needs, including sensory issues, is desirable.
* A passion for working with young children and a positive team attitude.
Note: Working hours may vary, including breakfast and after-school clubs. All staff must share a commitment to safeguarding and will undergo enhanced DBS clearance.
