What You’ll Do
As Team Lead, Data Center, you’ll assist with the daily operations of Aptum’s UK Data Center operation, ensuring high availability and reliable customer delivery. You will guide a team of technicians through day-to-day activities. You’ll help foster cross-training, assist with pre-sales support when needed, and collaborate with internal teams to maintain a resilient, customer-focused environment.
Here’s what your day-to-day will look like:
✅ Lead and support a team of DC Administrators—handle scheduling, training, and day-to-day guidance
✅ Keep things running—monitor infrastructure, perform daily rounds, and coordinate on-site maintenance
✅ Own the details—maintain accurate records, asset inventories, and internal documentation (Visio, CMMS, DCIM)
✅ Support deployments—prepare and execute MOPs/SOPs, and ensure adherence to safety and security protocols
✅ Collaborate like a pro—with internal teams, vendors, and commercial teams to support customer needs and infrastructure readiness
✅ Stay curious—sharpen your technical knowledge and help improve team capabilities
✅ Champion our value—uphold Aptum’s standards, ensuring every customer experience is reliable and professional
What You Bring to the Table 🏆
We’re looking for someone with strong leadership skills and technical expertise, calm problem-solving under pressure, and a proactive, team-oriented mindset.
🔹 General knowledge of critical data center infrastructure (power, HVAC, electrical systems, airflow, etc.)
🔹 Experience guiding peers, supporting training efforts, and leading by example on the floor.
🔹 Skilled in Visio, Excel, and CMMS/DCIM platforms for documentation and asset tracking.
🔹 The ability to stay productive and engaged, including during off-hours emergencies if needed
🔹 Certifications: Technical diploma or relevant industry certifications are an asset (e.g., HVAC, electrical, ITIL, Uptime Institute).
