What you’ll be doing
* Lead a small team of food managers to manage the grocery shop floor in one of our supermarkets.
* Execute trading events by working closely with the store leadership team to ensure we win during peak seasons (e.g., Christmas, Easter).
* Take full accountability for the store in the absence of the store manager; role model and coach for high standards and efficiency across the food hall.
* Ensure compliance with processes and safety while delivering a great shopping experience.
* Lead a large team of colleagues, ensuring on-floor presence when needed and handling people matters appropriately, including recognition of successes and management of difficult situations.

Essential Criteria
* Experience leading large teams in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment with a track record of developing leaders, high-performing teams, and ownership culture.
* Proven ability to deliver exceptional customer experiences across complex operations through your team.
* History of delivering and improving KPIs (sales, stock availability, customer satisfaction, colleague engagement).
* Experience managing sensitive and complex people matters with fairness and sound judgment.
* Leadership experience in an operational retail, hospitality, or food service context with ownership of department performance.
* Evidence of leading change (new ways of working, systems, or shifting team mindsets) and making it stick.
