Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust

The closing date is 17 February 2026

Hull University Teaching Hospital's Emergency Department is based at Hull Royal Infirmary. The department has undergone a 12 million pound redevelopment programme providing a first class facility for our patients. We are within a large teaching hospital and are the regional trauma unit. Our ED sees over 150,000 patients per year, with its own integrated Paediatric ED and Primary Care area. The department is innovative and always looking to develop new ideas to enhance the patient journey through the ED. The Emergency Department currently sees approximately 150,000 patients a year and provides a challenging and demanding place in which to work. The department receives up to 140 ambulances a day and is a major trauma receiving hospital for the wider region.

Main duties of the job

Are you an experienced, motivated and enthusiastic nurse, with a passion for Emergency nursing? If so then we would love to meet you.

We are looking for someone who will bring a positive attitude to the department and can demonstrate a kind and compassionate attitude to support the matrons and senior nurse team to ensure that high quality patient-focused care is delivered.

We cover a large community with a wide range of conditions in a highly challenged and fast paced environment.

You will be instrumental in undertaking the senior nursing role, assessing, planning, delivering and evaluating care. You will rotate around all areas of the department, which include working in emergency care, initial assessment, streaming and the resuscitation area.

Hull Emergency Department is passionate about getting it right for patients and their families. If you have compassion, energy and a genuine dedication to patient care and are ready to take the next steps to develop your clinical, leadership and managerial skills, then we would love for you to apply.

About us

The Humber Health Partnership is one of the largest acute and community Partnership arrangements in the NHS, seeing well over one million patients every year and managing a budget of over £1.3 billion.
