About the Company
We are a well-established company specialising in the design, manufacture, and servicing of packaging machinery. Due to growing market demand, we are expanding our Service Department. Our equipment is supplied across a wide range of industries throughout the UK and internationally.
The Role – Field Service Engineer
You will be responsible for installing, commissioning, servicing, and maintaining packaging equipment to the highest standards. This is a customer-facing role, requiring strong communication skills and adherence to on-site safety procedures.
You will also support equipment surveys, fault diagnosis, and continuous improvement initiatives. When not on-site, you will assist with equipment assembly and manufacturing at our facility.
Key Responsibilities
* Install, commission, and service packaging machinery
* Travel across the UK and internationally as required
* Stay away from home when necessary (occasionally over one week)
* Diagnose faults (mechanical and basic electrical)
* Provide technical support and improvement suggestions
* Work independently and as part of a team
* Report to the Service Manager
Candidate Requirements
* Experience as a Service Engineer
* Strong mechanical knowledge (mechanically biased)
* Basic electrical fault-finding and PLC understanding
* Knowledge of pneumatics
* Willingness to travel and work flexible hours
* Ability to work under pressure and stay organised
* Strong customer communication skills
* Full clean driving licence (preferred)
