Job Overview
This role offers a fast‑paced, challenging specialty to improve understanding and experience in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. The appointment begins as a 6‑month fixed term based mainly at Northwick Park Hospital. You will work with other trainee doctors and consultants, caring for emergency and elective patients within OMFS and Head & Neck services. The weekly timetable can be adjusted in line with your experience.
Main Duties
* Provide clinical care in OMFS Service at Northwick Park Hospital, including emergency and elective cases in head & neck surgery.
* Participate in the 2nd‑call rota and support middle‑grade team.
* Assist with outpatient clinics, imaging, and prosthodontic work as required.
* Contribute to the specialist regional inpatient and laboratory facilities, including critical care support.
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across the Trust’s sites.
Detailed Responsibilities
The clinical team includes 10 consultants across H&N cancer, major trauma and skin cancer, orthognathic and TMJ surgery, supported by associate specialists, staff grades, middle grades and junior doctors. You will assist in delivering high‑quality care, attend on‑call rotation, and actively contribute to service delivery.
Person Specification & Qualifications
Qualifications
* BDS & MBBS or equivalent
Higher Qualifications
* Fellowship in Dental Surgery or Membership of the Faculty of Dental Surgery or equivalent
* MFDS, MJDF, IMRCS, MDS
Registration
* Full registration with General Medical Council (GMC) and/or General Dental Council (GDC)
Specialty / Sub‑Specialty
* Demonstrable evidence of specialist interest in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery
* Broad based experience in general Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery
