What you’ll be doing:
Designing and assisting in the build of prototypes, products and systems suitable for testing, including the development of new products using novel technologies
System and sub-system validation and verification, including supporting system design reviews.
Component/interface specification and selection
Application of
Control
Systems Engineering practices to ensure design safety, reliability, integration and performance requirements are met
Tailor and develop Systems Engineering practices to suit the needs of a particular project / programme of work
Problem solving and providing timely corrective actions on all assigned defects and issues
This role requires travel within the UK
Your skills and experiences:
Essentials:
Experience of practical system design using MATLAB/Simulink, particularly of
control
systems
Degree qualified in a relevant Engineering or Systems discipline or significant equivalent industry experience
Mechanical/Electrical/Software background or similar, with working experience on
complex
engineering projects
Understanding and experience working with system communication protocols,
e.g.
CAN bus
Desirables:
Working knowledge of
autonomous
systems
Working knowledge and application of model-based systems engineering (MBSE)
Trials and practical experience of systems integration, installation and commissioning

In this role you will be working within the Engineering Function on the Research & Technology team, playing a key role in designing systems for business-critical projects, including development of new products using novel technologies.
