Data Engineer Salary: £35,000 - £45,000 Locations: Norwich/ Bristol/ Sheffield/ York Are you someone who would like to be part of our high-profile Data Engineering Team?We are seeking enthusiastic Data Engineers to be part of our innovative team which help shape the future of the life insurance business at Aviva.You'lluse SQL and Python based tools totransformraw data from multiple systems into business focussed information that can be used for a range of purposes from Data Science, though Informational Dashboards and Reporting through to Self-service queries by analysts. A bit about the job: We work across all business lines, delivering data analytics solutions forprotection, healthcare, wealth,cooand retirement. We are looking to finding candidates who can: Build and support data products and pipelines, translating defined business requirements into well-engineered data solutions. Work closely with data scientists and analysts to provide accurate, well-prepared data that supports analytics and data science use cases. Communicate data issues and solutions clearly to non-technical stakeholders, escalating risks or blockers where needed. Support regular data loads and data platform maintenance, helping ensure data environments are reliable and performant. Follow data governance and engineering standards, collaborating with other data engineers, and business teams while sharing knowledge and learning best practices. Skills and experience we're looking for Experience in relational database management systems. SQL experience (preferably Snowflake experience would be ideal) the ability to query large and complex databases using SQL. ETL/ELTexperience("dbt"experiencewould beideal). Strong data interrogation and manipulation skillsand any experience in tools likeDataIku, Informatica PowerCenter or similar would beadvantageous. Understanding of data modelling techniques particularly those suited to analytical data.
