Overview
We're looking for someone kind, patient, and reliable to support one of our team members who has special educational needs (SEN). The support is funded through the government's Access to Work scheme, and ideally, we'd love one person who can cover both the short-term coaching and the longer-term workplace support.
What the role involves
* Job Coach: Around 9 hours a week for 22 weeks, then 4 hours a week for 4 weeks. This part is about coaching — helping our colleague build confidence, learn routines, and develop strategies for work. (£30 per hour)
* Job Aide: Around 3 hours a week for 3 years. This is more about ongoing, practical support — things like giving reminders, breaking down tasks, and being there as a steady point of help. (£14.65 per hour)
We're looking for someone who is:
* Understanding, patient, and good at listening.
* Experienced in supporting people with SEN (for example, you may have worked as a mentor, teaching assistant, or support worker).
* Flexible in your approach — able to adapt support to what works best for the individual.
* Self-employed (you'll invoice us for your hours so we can reclaim them through Access to Work).
* DBS checked (or happy to get this done) as you'll be working with a vulnerable adult.
What you'll get
* The chance to make a real difference by helping someone thrive at work.
* A regular part-time role with a clear structure of hours (outlined above).
* Pay to be agreed, within the allowance covered by Access to Work funding.
