Job Title: Cover Supervisor Location: Redcar Salary: £100 – £130 per day (depending on experience) Start Date: Immediate Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long Term, Full-time / Part-time Are you a confident and adaptable individual looking to support students in a classroom environment? GSL Education are currently recruiting enthusiastic and reliable Cover Supervisors to work in schools across Redcar. This rewarding role involves supervising classes during teacher absences, ensuring students remain focused on their learning and complete set work in a positive and structured classroom environment. The successful candidate will help maintain continuity of learning while supporting positive behaviour and student engagement. Responsibilities of a Cover Supervisor: Supervise classes in the absence of the regular teacher Deliver pre-set work and ensure students remain on task Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies Support students with their learning where necessary Provide feedback to teaching staff regarding student progress and behaviour Maintain a safe, respectful, and productive classroom environment Follow safeguarding and school procedures at all times Work collaboratively with teachers and support staff Cover Supervisor Requirements: Previous experience working with young people is desirable Strong communication and classroom management skills Confident, proactive, and adaptable approach Ability to engage and motivate students Degree or relevant school-based experience is advantageous Passion for education and supporting student development An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply) Please be advised that this role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection, and successful applicants must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks, including providing an enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service or completing a new application.
