Bromsgrove District and Redditch Borough Councils seek a creative and energetic individual with youth and community experience to facilitate a range of skills development activity in applied arts industry settings. ReNEW (Rediscover North East Worcestershire) will take place between Autumn 2025 and Autumn 2027 and is made possible with the support of a £550,000 Arts Council England National Lottery Place Partnership Fund and further contributions from the partners of the Cultural Compact for North East Worcestershire.
Job Requirements
The successful applicant must possess a range of skills and experience to include:
At least three years' experience delivering youth and community arts and culture projects in settings similar to that of Redditch and Bromsgrove.
Effective communication and ability to co-ordinate strategies to engage stakeholders in development activities.
An understanding of and commitment to diversity, inclusion and environmental responsibility.
Job Responsibilities
ReNEW has two core aims:
1. Develop the creative skills and industry potential of local young artists aged 16 and above by providing applied training, mentoring and industry-specific co-production experiences.
2. Build ambition, capacity, and long-term sustainability within the Local Cultural Sector improving its ability to serve local communities.
The post holder amongst other areas of responsibility will:
Develop and maintain effective relationships with key partners.
Implement strategies to engage target audiences: young people aged 15 - 20 years, isolated older people, lower socio-economic groups, families with older children.
Recruit and retain participation in skills activities for young artists and the local cultural sector across the project.
Facilitate alongside youth and community arts providers the supervision of face-to-face youth activities.
Coordinate and oversee the work programmes of two Apprentices.
