Salary
£82,600 - £100,938. GCO Pension, GCO Terms. Up to 15% performance-related-pay available on accreditation.

Defence Digital Commercial (DD Comm) is a Category Management aligned team that supports the central Defence Digital function, responsible for £2.4bn of spend and influences a further £2bn. The DD Comm team is made up of five categories, Software, Cloud and Hosting; IT Hardware & Services; Military Technology; and Networks and Professional Services - each individual category team varies in size.
This is a leadership role accountable to the 2*(star) Director for Defence Digital Commercial. The individual will be responsible for supporting the 2* in the delivery of the function's commercial strategy for the next 5 years as well as shaping, leading and managing the Commercial Operations team who provide the support that enable the efficient operation of the function.
The successful candidate will work as an integrator and influencer, connecting and providing the Digital Commercial leadership team with oversight across the organisation to help identify cross function wide opportunities and support implementation and embedding commercial and category management processes.
This senior role covers all aspects of the commercial operational lifecycle which includes leading and driving commercial workload demand management, the associated resource & capacity planning and MI & Reporting as well as leading and driving all aspects of communication, recruitment and learning & development. The role will be responsible for implementation of short, medium, and long-term commercial change initiatives which will ensure that Digital Commercial is aligned to Defence Digital and MOD Commercial strategic ambitions.
Effective senior engagement at the 1* and 2* level is required to drive through delivery, recognise and anticipate top level issues and provide solutions and escalation support at the executive level. The effective management of senior relationships is a fundamental part of the role as well proactively identifying problems and offering effective solutions to enable collaborative working relationships across teams within and outside of Digital Commercial.
