We are currently looking to recruit for an experienced Night Manager to join the Front Office team at SCHLOSS Roxburghe. This is a permanent, full-time position, working 40 hours per week, 10 hour shifts, 4 days on and 3 days off. The Night Manager is responsible for the day-to-day running of Nights; to ensure the smooth operation of services is always provided and create an exceptional experience for our guests. Your Key Responsibilities: · Takes responsibility for the hotel, guests and the staff present during the night, assuming the role of Manager on Duty · Conducts regular security walk arounds of the building and is responsible for the security and peace of the hotel and guests · Ensuring EOD Process is run at an appropriate time, and all relevant preparatory work is done · Is the contact person for all problems and guest complaints during the night and ensures an effective solution for the guest · In an emergency situation or fire alarm activation, assumes the appropriate responsibilities and follows the Fire procedure and Health & Safety protocols at all times · Monitors the incoming phone and email correspondence during the night · Responsible for the correct management of a checklist as well as the timely execution of wake-up calls and ordered daily newspapers · Prepare for the day ahead, ensure that all FOH areas are set by 6am and ready for guests · Documents and communicates all noteworthy events of the night in handover · Ensure the Daily Info Sheets are correct and sent out at a relevant time · Accepts sick leave calls within the night service for all departments of the house, forwards it to the appropriate places · Represent the management in their absence during the night · Responsible for light daily cleaning of some public areas · Recognise that operations must run 24 hours, 7 days a week, without interruption · High level of confidentiality and discretion towards guests and colleagues to be maintained at all time · Supervise tasks of Night Guest Services Host and Night Cleaners Your Knowledge & Capabilities: · You are an excellent communicator, both verbal and written, with the ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels · You are confident with problem solving and complaint handling · You are detail-oriented, accurate data entry and strong computer skill - You are enthusiastic and have a positive personality with the ability to build genuine and trusting relationships Proven Experience/Qualifications: Previous supervisory or management experience essential Minimum of 2 years’ experience in guest facing role desirable Experience in the hospitality industry, preferably in a comparable position or industry Full, clean UK driver’s licence is essential
