Overview
Tax Manager - Transfer Pricing - Compliance. Base locations: Birmingham, London, Manchester, plus a network of 20 offices nationally. This role is within KPMG's UK Transfer Pricing Compliance practice and involves leading and delivering TP compliance work for multinational clients.
What you will be doing
* Lead global transfer pricing compliance projects where we prepare transfer pricing local files, master files and TP returns for clients across multiple jurisdictions. Manage a range of compliance projects across varied client bases in size and industry.
* Develop and maintain client relationships for global transfer pricing compliance projects.
* Project management related to the provision of our services.
* Conduct/participate in functional interviews with clients to understand activities and value drivers for transfer pricing analyses.
* Identify key industry features across varied industries that influence pricing of transactions and prepare transfer pricing analyses.
* Prepare/review benchmarking analyses across industries and transaction types (TNMM and CUP).
* Review transfer pricing policies and their implementations.
* Understand and implement KPMG’s transfer pricing technology for preparation of local files and review local files using this technology.
* Support clients with tax authority enquiries; coordinate with TP, international tax, indirect tax and other teams across jurisdictions on TP compliance topics.
* Coach and develop junior team members; contribute to leadership discussions and drive continuous process improvements within the TP Compliance team.
* Lead or assist with business development and project scoping for new global transfer pricing documentation proposals, including preparing scope and fee quotes and presenting in client pitches/demos.
Qualifications and Experience
* CTA, CA, ACA, ACCA qualification or a Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in economics, finance, law, accounting or equivalent.
* At least 5 years of transfer pricing experience, preferably including preparing/reviewing transfer pricing documentation and local files, conducting/participating in functional interviews, preparing/reviewing functional analyses, benchmarking, and supporting tax authority enquiries.
Skills
* Strong project management/co-ordination skills (e.g., global transfer pricing compliance outsourcing engagements or related programmes).
* Experience in process design and implementation; transition, change and stakeholder management.
* Analytical with a commercial approach to resolving issues and providing advice.
* High drive, enthusiasm and positive attitude; good commercial awareness and willingness to develop a technical specialism.
* Ability to stay technically up-to-date with global transfer pricing obligations; understanding of ethical/risk considerations in client service.
* Strong people skills for engaging with clients and team members in the UK and overseas; excellent communication and project management skills; familiarity with technology applications in compliance.
