As a Technical Engineer at Newett Homes you will be a key contact across the business for engineering information, technical support and advice from the feasibility stage to site completion. Managing the development of engineering drawings, both in-house as well as managing and briefing external consultants as required. This is a pivotal role in ensuring that build programmes can progress in line with the company schedule and strong communication skills will also enable you to confidently manage technical queries from all departments and suppliers within the business. Assist with the management of sites from the preparation of feasibility reports to site completion, supporting all departments throughout the build programme as required. Co-ordinate production of surveys and reports required for the development, to ensure commercial viability. Potential new site evaluation, preparing engineering designs and investigating any technical problems, to support in the tender process. Maintain a strong commercial awareness on plot viability and budgets on design. Provide detailed site and plot plans, to enable accurate budgeting on site and plot infrastructure. Attend design meetings with Highways and Water authorities to ascertain their requirements for new developments. Coordinating consultants to produce engineering drawings to achieve technical approvals from local authorities. Check engineering drawings and details for accuracy, correctness, value engineering and commercial suitability. Co-ordinate submission of designs and securing technical approvals. Working closely with the Production team, providing them with a detailed site blueprint to enable the efficiency of the build programme and holding weekly progress meetings. Liaising with service providers to ensure that services are connected to site and individual plots as required. Obtaining Management Company quotations, review and provide comparison for approval, liaising with the sales team in order to agree on the most suitable provider per development. Assist the sales team with the sales progression progress with regards to promptly responding to legal queries on technical details. Manage the drawing registers and filing systems on View Point and maintaining the Technical Tracker excel report, to enable accurate reporting. Distribute information as required, providing clear and departmentally specific communication on changes and amendments to technical drawings. Produce bespoke drawings where necessary to suit specific requirements Office based role with regular development site visits, as and when required. Proactively identify technical design improvements and report these to the Head of Technical on a regular basis.
