Job description Job Title: Assistant Manager - Bar and Restaurant Location: Leiston Reports to: General Manager Salary: £30 000 Hours: 40 hrs - Monday/Tuesday/Thursdays Off About the Role: We are looking for an enthusiastic and capable Assistant Manager to support the smooth running of our Bar and Restaurant. Working closely with the General Manager, you will help lead the front-of-house team, maintain high service standards, and contribute to the vibrant, community-focused atmosphere our members enjoy. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone with hospitality experience who is ready to take the next step in their career. Key Responsibilities: * Support the General Manager in the day-to-day running of the bar and restaurant. * Lead shifts and supervise the bar team, ensuring excellent customer service at all times. * Assist with training, mentoring, and motivating team members. * Basic food preparation * Take responsibility for stock control, cellar management, and supplier coordination as needed. * Help plan and deliver club events, entertainment nights, and member functions. * Ensure adherence to health & safety, food hygiene, and licensing regulations. * Handle customer queries, concerns, and feedback professionally and effectively. * Step into the General Manager's role in their absence, maintaining continuity of service and standards. Skills & Experience: * Previous experience in a supervisory or assistant management role in hospitality, bar, or club settings. * Strong communication and leadership skills with a hands-on, can-do attitude. * Proven ability to manage staff, resolve conflicts, and work in a team environment. * Knowledge of bar operations, licensing laws, and stock/cash handling procedures. * A genuine interest in building positive relationships with members and guests.
