We represent a long-established North Wales based manufacturing business, who design and manufacture an impressive range of premium quality, safety critical products.
They seek to recruit a progressive and people focused QHSE (Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental) Manager to drive a strong culture of quality, health and safety across a busy and multi process manufacturing shop floor. Driving the improvement of quality and safety related KPIs, developing and ameliorating the quality and safety management system and encouraging ownership of and responsibility for quality and safety performance across all employees and departments.
The QHSE Manager will also lead a small team of engineers and technicians, and will also be responsible for coaching and mentoring this team to develop their skills and knowledge base. This is an all encompassing remit to include customer and supplier liaison, as well as leading on internal plant quality problem solving and improvement.
Key skills
* Significant experience in a Quality Manager or QHSE Manager capacity, in a mechanical/assembly manufacturing setting
* Preferably qualified in engineering
* Good knowledge and proven application of problem-solving tools such as 8D, 5Y, CAPA, FMEA, Pareto Ishikawa, PPAP and SPC
* Good knowledge of ISO standards, and preference for experience with AS9100 or IATF16949 standards
* Confident in customer liaison and managing an international customer base
* An excellent collaborator, will work closely with other departments on joint projects and drive solid relationships with procurement, engineering, production
* Preferably with NEBOSH or IOSH certification and has previously managed or been heavily involved in leading a SHE agenda
* Hands on, will take a ‘go look see’ approach to all problem-solving activity
* Willing to take ownership, but open to others’ opinions and working as a team for the business goal.

This role is site based in Denbighshire, North Wales with infrequent travel to another Group facility
