We are looking to expand our Emergency Practitioner workforce both in Gloucester and Cheltenham Emergency Departments.
We will have variable hours of work, including days and nights, working cross-site.

Job responsibilities
* Work effectively under pressure in a challenging, specialist environment while maintaining high standards of patient care.
* Manage an autonomous caseload with unpredictable work patterns, including patient assessment, diagnosis, planning, and discharge, meeting national ED attendance targets.
* Handle difficult situations and communicate effectively with patients, relatives, and visitors, including managing aggressive behavior.
* Support patients and relatives in distress, including during bereavement.
* Address child protection issues as needed.

Person Specification
Qualifications, Knowledge, and Experience
* Active RN Adult/Paediatric registration with the NMC or HCPC registration as a Paramedic or Physiotherapist.
* Recognized UK Degree: Level 6 BSc in Minor Injury & Illness or Level 6/7 in Advanced Practice in Clinical Assessment, Reasoning, and Differential Diagnosis for Urgent, Emergency, and Primary Care Practitioners.
* Experience in an acute or emergency clinical environment, including minor injury/illness.
* Ability to critically evaluate and challenge nursing practices to improve patient care standards.
* Non-medical independent and supplementary prescribing qualification or ability to use PGDs.
* Immediate Life Support certification.
* Proficiency in wound closure techniques and reduction of dislocations and fractures.
* Ability to interpret investigations such as plain film X-Rays and blood results.

Salary: £38,682 to £46,580 per year (pro rata if part-time).
