About Lineage – Peterborough Facility
Lineage Logistics is the global leader in temperature-controlled logistics, with a clear mission: to transform the food supply chain to eliminate waste and help feed the world. Through cutting-edge technology, a vast logistics network, and a commitment to sustainability, we serve a broad customer base—from Fortune 500 corporations to local, family-owned businesses.
Our Peterborough site, part of the Southeast Superhub (alongside 12 other UK locations), is one of the most advanced cold storage facilities in the country. Opened in March 2018, the site features a dual-phase building design with two main operational zones. A significant expansion came with Phase 3 in May 2022, creating over 100 new local jobs, and Phase 4 is already planned for the very near future, continuing our trajectory of growth and innovation.
The facility stands 13 stories high and is designed for predominantly full pallet In/Out operations, offering:
* 25,600 pallet positions in Phases 1 & 2
* An additional 45,300 pallet positions in Phase 3
* 7 automated cranes, 6 inbound lanes, and 8 double dispatch lanes
* Automated vehicle offload and full-site automation, enabling up to 4,500 pallet movements daily
* 24/7 operations with flexible working patterns
Our infrastructure supports not only local and national distribution but also our in-house transport fleet, consisting of 100 trailers and 150 tractor units across the UK.
Aligned with our green initiatives, the site uses environmentally focused cooling systems and full automation to minimize energy waste and maximize efficiency—part of Lineage’s wider commitment to sustainability and reducing environmental impact.
As we continue to expand, we are actively investing in people and technology to build a world-class Engineering Team across Lineage EU.
