About Open Doors Forum
Open Doors Forum is a Derby-based charity that exists to serve and strengthen the local and surrounding communities. Prioritising the provision of activities and supporting for those most underserved the charity exists to challenge the impacts of isolation, and loneliness to facilitate a thriving and inclusive community. As an active organisation Open Doors Forum offers a programme of events and activities targeting individuals across the lifespan, that include; an annual children's holiday schemes, local food distribution, health and wellbeing information sessions, in addition to hosting social events open to the wider community.
Thanks to external funding, we are now seeking to recruit a part-time Administrative Lead to support the smooth and effective running of our growing calendar of activities and events.
About the Role
This is an active and varied administration role, best suited for someone who thrives on keeping things organised, and who brings an eye for detail and is committed to develop and see change in and for the local community. The ability to communicate effectively is key. Your role will be to be provide day-to-day administrative support to help our small team deliver ongoing and new community initiatives. This is an hands on active role which will require you will get involved in the various projects in support of the below responsibilities.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Maintain staff/volunteers' records
* Supporting the coordination of ODF Easter, Summer, and Christmas holiday schemes
* Helping to organise monthly coffee-times
* Admin support of current and new initiatives
* Assisting with food distribution admin for those affected by the cost-of-living crisis
* Taking and preparing minutes from committee meetings
* Supporting funding applications and record-keeping
* Key to be working with other Community Groups/Projects
What We are Looking For
We are looking for someone reliable, organised, who is able to manage a range of administration tasks efficiently with attention to detail. Ideally, you will have some previous experience in an admin role and a genuine interest in working within the community or charity sector.
You will need to:
* Be confident using Microsoft 365 – Outlook, Word, and Excel spreadsheet as a minimum.
* Be able to communicate clearly, both in writing and in person.
* Be able to manage your time effectively and meet deadlines.
* Be able to work independently and as part of a small team.
* Show professionalism and sensitivity when working with confidential information.
* Communicate a positive can-do attitude to meet the various challenges of the role and organisation.
* Be able to use initiative and be proactive.
Please note that a DBS check will be required for this role, and applicants must have the right to work in the UK.
