As an Innovation Packaging Technologist, you will be at the forefront of discovering and delivering emerging packaging formats, materials, and technologies. This role requires a balance between creativity and technical knowledge, ensuring that all concepts are not only trend driven but also feasible, functional, and manufacturable.
You will bring a network of trusted packaging suppliers and be confident working across complex contract briefs. Your work will directly support the Business Development team by showcasing innovation to clients through outreach opportunities, tenders, and developing engaging mock ups.
What you'll be doing:
Trend Research & Presentation
* Research and present innovative packaging formats, materials, and technologies, aligning with current and emerging beauty trends.
Innovation Library & Client Engagement
* Develop and maintain a packaging innovation library. Lead regular client-facing presentations showcasing new ideas, formats, and sustainability solutions.
Creative Brief Translation
* Collaborate with clients and internal teams to convert creative briefs into viable packaging concepts that meet brand identity, functional performance, and regulatory standards.
Technical Evaluation
* Evaluate packaging concepts for formulation compatibility, user experience, manufacturing feasibility, and pack integrity.
Sustainability Focus
* Support sustainable packaging initiatives by applying knowledge of recyclable materials, PCR, refillable systems, and mono-material solutions.
Cross-functional Collaboration
* Work closely with operations, engineering, and quality teams to ensure packaging solutions are production-ready and efficient for manufacturing and filling lines.
* Liaise with procurement and sourcing teams to identify and recommend qualified suppliers, leveraging your existing and preferred supplier network.
Documentation & Specification Management
* Maintain accurate technical documentation, packaging specifications, and Bills of Materials to ensure project traceability and compliance.
What we need from you:
* 2+ years’ experience in packaging development, ideally within a FMCG environment in the health & beauty industry
* An enthusiastic team player with good interpersonal skills
* Excellent project management and communication skills

* Solution based approach to dealing with challenges.
* Pro-active, solution oriented and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment
