An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a growing and dynamic Acute Oncology Service (AOS) within the East Suffolk & North Essex Foundation Trust. We have a permanent full time post available in Colchester Hospital.
Based within the Acute Oncology Service you will have the ability to develop and consolidate your existing skills in medical/oncological triage and the assessment of acutely unwell oncology patients within the organisation.
You will be pivotal in the co-ordination and further expansion of the role within the Acute Oncology Service across both sites within the trust.
Responsibilities
* Carry out over the phone assessments and inpatient rounds reviewing patients who have presented to the AOS unwell through a complication of malignancy or side effect of systemic anti‑cancer treatments.
* Manage a dedicated patient caseload as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Qualifications
* Experience of triaging unwell medical and/or oncology/haematology patients.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work well within a multidisciplinary team.
