Role Purpose: Responsible for delivering and driving consistency in fit and a high standard of quality within all products to the brand standards. Working collaboratively with the production team on product development ensuring product conforms to the construction, finish, performance, and sustainable/ethical requirements to achieve the required aesthetic. Strive to elevate and constantly evaluate product performance and improve quality and fit where possible. Key Responsibilities: - Working on product development with the entire Product team to ensure new ideas are risk assessed effectively in order to respect the development CP dates. - Creating detailed tech packs containing product specifications, fit comments and product performance requirements, ensuring product conformity to our requirements. - Identifying suitable fabrics, trims and washes in line with Lucy & Yak’s sustainability practices. - Working to the Critical Path maintaining deadlines effectively and highlighting any risk to dates throughout the season. - Attending all fit meetings, documenting fit comments accordingly. Sharing clear fit and construction comments/requirements on Initial, Red, Black and Gold seal within the tech pack to the India team. - Ability to anticipate technical problems and offer strong solutions with corrective action plans. - Analysing product returns, reviews and product faults with the Technical Manager, making recommendations required for product improvement. - Ensure that all Lucy & Yak products conforms with testing and performance standards utilising the L&Y performance manual. - Working with Technical Manager to ensure that all Lucy & Yak products have the relevant fabric standard labelling present and TC is received on shipping of orders. - Approving bulk test reports and care labels. - Maintaining high quality levels while working towards constant quality improvements – in partnership with our QC team, UK and India product team. - Communicate always with fluidity and transparency, and collaborate with ease with colleagues in all departments. - Work closely with the customer happiness team to offer product support ensuring excellent standards of customer satisfaction. - Complete benchmarking exercises against competitors for quality and fit and sustainability innovations within fabrics, packaging and processes. Key Skills & Experience: - Profound technical mindset. - Minimum of 3 years in a Technologists role. - Strong knowledge of garment construction and manufacturing operations, including pattern cutting skills, grading and marker making. - Knowledge of product performance and testing is essential. - Working knowledge of fabrics and garment components and finishes. - Knowledgeable and passionate about sustainability and circularity. - Experience of working with overseas factories demonstrating empathy with the constraints and timelines in this regard, showing the ability to communicate effectively. - The ability to grow and adapt accordingly within a relatively new and constantly changing fast growing business. Please note: This role is based in our Brighton Office, successful candidates must be able to attend in office Monday - Thursday. This is a fixed term contract of 9 - 12 months.
