Job Description
* Overall control and management of buying department
* Improve and develop the buying department strategy, processes and protocols.
* Develop, maintain and improve relationships with key suppliers.
* Create relationships with new suppliers.
* Champion use Local strategy, working with the ESG manager to explore sustainable solutions for material supply and waste / unused material disposal and local social value opportunities.
* Explore general sustainable alternatives to materials, fuel and equipment
* Manage disputes over damage / losses, and critique material supply invoices against standard of service (standing time vs supplier delays)
* Day to day buying function includes live jobs & tenders supporting the buyer as and when required.
* Monitor and feedback supplier performance : input into NCR CARs.
* Report back to estimators regional cost fluctuations, supplier specific cost increases, and regional blockers (other large projects in the area which could impact on supply and costs to our project).
* Working with site teams over real-time challenges (supplier / supply issues) & opportunities (new suppliers in the area, innovative solutions).
* Assist estimators with regional lodging costs.
* Manage supplier approvals and approved supplier database
* Establish, maintain and review framework agreements including rebate agreements
