Overall purpose of Role:
Assisting the Engineering department to maximise the availability of all electrical assets, maintaining or improving their original performance capability for as long as reasonably practicable.
Background
A confident and experienced electrician who is familiar with maintenance of electrical equipment within a process environment. Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team, with a focus on flexibility and efficiency. Prioritises a safety-conscious approach to all activities.
Technical Experience
EITB / City & Guilds or equivalent time served Engineering Apprenticeship
IOSH Working Safely or the ability to work towards this
CompEx trained
Experienced in performing isolations
IBD Fundamentals
Basic PC Skills - Use of: Email, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Health, Safety & Environment
Solid knowledge of HSE legislation
Trained, competent and experienced in Permit to Work systems, risk assessments and method statements

Main Responsibilities:
Assisting to ensure that all engineering activities on and off-site are carried out in accordance with the necessary Company health and safety requirements.
Maintaining an awareness of the regulatory and Company standards that apply to the role such as HMRC, COMAH and H&S. COMAH specific - Understand and act in accordance with the Site Emergency Response Plan in the event of an evacuation or major incident, and regularly participate in COMAH improvement activity.
Provide holiday and absence cover for the 4 on 4 off 12 hour Day/Night rotational Shift Engineers with flexibility across shifts and between rotas, where required.
Performing routine electrical maintenance tasks to overhaul, repair and test all electrical equipment.
Development of electrical maintenance Planned Preventive maintenance routines including DSEAR and SCE.
Troubleshooting any electrical breakdowns or anomalies across the plant, taking corrective action where required.
Operation of the Company's Maintenance Management System (MAXIMO), ensuring the robust collection and analysis of availability and operating data on key assets to demonstrate that performance standards are being achieved and identify improvement opportunities.
Installing new electrical systems as required by plant improvement or safety requirements.
Building and aiding in the designing of new electrical control panels.
Maintaining and adhering to a clear vision of the Company's business objectives and cultural standards when executing all site electrical developments.
Liaising with production and operation departments to provide electrical isolation services and making recommendations for improvement when required.
Undertake any training or qualifications that are required to fulfil your role competently and/or to meet changing legislative and safety requirements.
Lead and support continuous improvement activities to deliver productivity and cost efficiencies and improve operational performance.
Any other duties that may reasonably be required in line with your contractual role.

We are a distillation and maturation business selling grain spirit which is used as the base for blended Scotch Whisky by many well-known brands. The Distillery is based in Gorgie (Edinburgh) and this site is responsible for the production of new-make spirit, producing a by-product of animal feed, and energy via an Anaerobic Digestion plant. Our main Warehousing site is based in Muirhall (Addiewell, West Lothian), with 15 maturation warehouses and responsibility for bonding, storage and disgorging.
