Tool Hire Driver/ Assistant

Main Purpose
To assist in the efficient running of Tool Hire by building relationships with customers and staff to achieve maximum sales potential and customer service.
To promote MKM to be the merchant of choice within your geographical area.
Sales & Service
1. Ensure profitable customer relationships are built and maintained, including complaint resolution, preparing customer orders, loading and unloading safely and satisfactorily, ensuring any technical problems, faults and repairs are dealt with efficiently.
2. Loading and unloading the vehicle with small plant, tools and alloy towers.
3. Ensure sales orders and delivery schedules are processed accurately and promptly.
4. Supporting all Company initiatives
5. Following plans to continuously improve customer experience – representing the company, meeting different customers and driving to different locations on a daily basis.
6. Understanding local market issues and communicate to Manager to support sales growth plans.
7. Administration – Coordinate all Tool hire reports as necessary, paying particular attention to Health & Safety
8. Administration – All sales orders processed promptly; maintenance records in relation to hired products are kept up to date; cash payments processed in line with company procedures.
9. Carrying out daily and weekly vehicle checks.
10. Assist supervisor with managing stock levels, including incoming goods checked against delivery tickets, and participate in stock takes as required.
11. Health & safety – ensure the safety of not only yourself but also colleagues and customers; up to date knowledge of Tool Hire H&S procedures; maintenance meets all the necessary requirements; H&S certification maintained.
12. Assist supervisor with managing stock levels, incoming goods checked against delivery tickets, and participate in stock takes as required.
13. Provide an efficient hire experience, demonstrating exceptional customer service skills in all aspects of the working day.
Product Knowledge
14. Ensure that product knowledge is up to date and applied accurately in customer conversations.
15. Provide specialist advice and product information
Presentation

Skills, Knowledge and Experience
Essential
17. Full, clean driving license, a valid CPC card and Digi Tachograph card is essential.
18. Working knowledge of appropriate Health & Safety legislation
19. A relevant understanding of the market and product knowledge
20. Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
21. Flexible and enthusiastic attitude.
22. Must be committed to delivering great customer experiences.
23. Able to create and maintain successful relationships.
24. Good organisational skills to manage stock.
25. Have a good understanding of the mechanical aspect of servicing and fixing of machinery.
Desirable
26. GCSEs (Or equivalent) – Maths & English
27. A class 2 (Category C) license would be a distinct advantage.
28. Experience in a sales/customer focused role.
29. IT literate
30. Previous experience within the Tool Hire industry
31. HGV driving experience is not essential, newly qualified drivers are also welcome.
