Academics is seeking a strong, motivated, and committed Year 6 Teacher to join a welcoming primary school in Skipton. This opportunity is ideal for an experienced Key Stage 2 teacher who thrives on driving progress, building pupil confidence, and ensuring children are fully prepared for the transition to secondary school.
The Role - Year 6 Teacher
As a Year 6 Teacher, you will:
* Plan and deliver engaging, high-quality lessons aligned with the KS2 curriculum
* Prepare pupils effectively for SATs, ensuring strong progress across Reading, Writing and Maths
* Use assessment data to inform planning and raise attainment
* Create a structured, purposeful and supportive classroom environment
* Provide targeted intervention to support and stretch pupils of all abilities
* Build strong relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues
* Foster independence, resilience and confidence ahead of transition to Year 7
* Contribute positively to the wider school community
What We're Looking For
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
* Proven experience teaching in Upper Key Stage 2, ideally Year 6
* Strong knowledge of the KS2 curriculum and SATs frameworks
* Excellent behaviour management and high expectations for all pupils
* Ability to raise attainment and demonstrate measurable impact
* Strong organisational and communication skills
* An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
